Encouraging Words

One of my favorite things to do when I go to the beach or other outdoor places, is to pick up a special stone to help remind me of that place.  I like to pick the small smooth flat ones that feel good in your hand.

So when I saw this pic it made me think of another great use for the stones I have laying around!

I think they are perfect for some of my favorite scriptures and other thoughts.

You could use them write things you are thankful for.

Or maybe words that encourage you.

How about ones that describe your identity in Christ?

I'm going to go and find my stones and sharpie and get writing!

So next time you are outside - find some stones and make up a dish of encouragement!

p.s. I was not able to find the original source of this photo to give credit.  It is a wonderful pic!

Memories to Cherish

Sunshine, warmer weather (mostly ;) with school almost at a close and summer about to take off!

I have taken many pictures over my lifetime, many more than I will ever get in an album or scrapbook.

But the ones that I have done have been precious memories for myself & family.

I came across this challenge of 25 prompts for pictures.  There are some great ideas on here, but you could even add some of your own to fit you and your family! The idea is to be intentional about what you would like to save and remember. You can go to the link here.

Be intentional this summer to record some of your most fond memories and you too will have a keepsake to cherish for years to come!

Blessings to you on this beautiful day :)

I pray that you have drawn closer in your relationship over these last weeks as we have learned and practiced ways to get into God's Word.

This last week, we will talk about the word ponder.

The definition of ponder is to think or consider especially quietly, soberly, and deeply.

I was struck several years ago at the times Mary treasured things, pondered, or thought about them in her heart.

But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. Luke 2:19

This was in response to the shepherds coming to see Jesus and telling of the angels appearing to them saying "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

Imagine what Mary must have been thinking and the emotions she must have felt!

I wonder if Mary, even after all that had happened, was still amazed and surprised at the confirmation of what God had told her would happen, had happened!

In this verse the other word that sticks out to me is treasured.

How often do we treasure the words God has spoken to us?

How often do we ponder, think about, consider quietly, deeply & soberly what he has said?

As we end this series of study, let us not end what we are doing!

Make this a new beginning to ponder, treasure and be amazed by the very Word of God!
