A Place At The Table

In a culture built on consumption--especially of food--it is easy to forget the poor that Jesus cared so much about. Following the pattern of his successful Advent Conspiracy, Chris Seay invites readers on a journey of self-examination, discipline, and renewed focus on Jesus that will change their lives forever.

He challenges readers to eat like the poor for forty days in solidarity with a much-neglected group of people, and to donate the money they save on groceries to a charity or project that serves the poor in concrete ways. But he doesn't expect them to go it alone. A Place at the Tableincludes a short chapter for each of those forty days with Scripture, reflections, prayers, encouragement, and tips for engaging the whole family in the process. The six-session DVD, shot in such locations as the Holy Land, Haiti, and uador, will help small groups and entire churches go on a passionate journey of radical faith, personal action, solidarity with the poor, and extravagant grace.

Kisses from Katie

At a time when most teenagers are eager for freedom, independence and a prosperous career, Katie Davis heads to Uganda in search of her own calling.  At merely eighteen years of age, Katie longs to serve others.  Before she even graduates, she realizes that God is calling her to serve at an orphanage in the country of Uganda.  Within a year, she has her own home and a larger family than most young girls dream of having today.  Her sacrificial life teaches us what can truly happen when you are sold out to God and allow him to guide and direct you.  It is a challenging and convicting read that is impossible to put down, as you travel with Katie through the adventures of her God-driven life.

A must read for anyone pursuing what it looks like to live a “radical” Christian life.

The Cause Within You

Whether we realize it or not, each of us was created for a great cause—and we will never be truly fulfilled until we find and pursue it. Matthew Barnett, son of a well-known megachurch pastor, discovered his great cause when he relinquished his dream of building a big, successful church like his father’s and began listening for God’s dream for his life. Sensing that God was calling him to serve the poor and powerless of Los Angeles, Matthew founded the Dream Center, a beacon of hope for homeless families, drug addicts, abused women and children, victims of human trafficking, teen runaways, gang members, and many others whose lives were filled with brokenness.

If you are hungry for a life full of passion instead of apathy; if you are ready to use your specific gifts and abilities to make a mark on the world; if you need to be reminded that God loves you and has a plan for your life—The Cause Within You is the book that can change everything. Through his own story and the stories of others whose lives have been transformed, Matthew Barnett will lead you to the cause of your lifetime. (Description from www.thecausewithinyou.com)

Is It Okay with You?

Janine Maxwell owned one of the largest marketing companies in Canada that boasted a blue chip client list. Then on 9/11 she found herself trapped in New York City when all transportation in and out of the city stopped. She had to fight her way home to her family in Canada.

The world-changing events of that day became the catalyst that first sent Janine into a deep depression and later to the darkest parts of Africa in her search for the meaning of life. What happened next was a roller coaster ride from the board room to the streets of Africa where she found herself standing face to face with the AIDS pandemic and trying to understand what to do with 15 million orphans who are left in its wake. Her story is brutally honest and will take you straight to the heart of the issue of Africa's great need.

Even the most seasoned African traveler will have their eyes opened again. All we need to do is say, "It's not okay with me, either" and then act. (Check out the website at www.isitokaywithyou.com)

Jesus Calling

After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to be more attentive to the Savior's voice and began listening for what He was saying. With pen in hand she embarked on a journey that forever changed her along with many others throughout the world. The result of these meditations is the classic devotional, Jesus Calling, Enjoying Peace in His Presence. In these powerful pages are the words and scriptures Jesus lovingly laid on her heart. A year's worth of daily readings from Young's journals are now available for you, in order to bring you closer to Christ and move you deeper into His presence and His everlasting peace.
